Hidden in Perspective brings together 72 images taken by Giovanni Chiaramonte between 1980 and 1999 through that peninsula of figures which is Italy. Chiaramonte came to the representation of the landscape and the urban view after a long period of theoretical reflection at the end of the seventies. A privileged scene
of millennia of human history, Italy has been shaped by the different civilizations of the West and for this reason it is the only truly contemporary space, where the different ages
of the different cultures are present in the same place, breeding an infinity of cities, which
in the horizon of the view act as focal points
of significant and enduring forms.
In the photography of Chiaramonte every form of concrete, every visible figure, every architectural fragment that stands out
in the profile of the peninsula is part of
a labyrinth, is the mirror of an enigma, an image of a perspective that the eye, absorbed in contemplation, discovers after slow observation the traces of a meaning, the sign of a love concealed and yet always active and present.
